Your go-to environmentally-friendly page you need to live a greener lifestyle. Here you can keep up to date with the green news, discuss what we can do to help the current climate crisis and discover the hidden green gems in Newcastle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">I&#8217;m Abby and I live near Jesmond Dene and honestly it&#8217;s like a second home to me, I know all the paths and secret spots from walking my dog, Belle (who stars in my <em>About Me<\/em> tiktok!) I love taking in the nature and spying out for wildlife (I\u2019ve actually seen deer there). I\u2019m a dog walker so I spend most of my time out and about in parks across Newcastle with the best canine company! Basically, a love for all things animals and nature will always take a good chunk of my heart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">My passion for the environment probably started way back when I was little helping my dad out in the garden. Looking back, I was probably more of a nuisance than a help, but those afternoons really taught me the importance of nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignleft\"><video height=\"540\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 302 \/ 540;\" width=\"302\" controls src=\"https:\/\/journalists.org.uk\/abby-spicer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23040\/2023\/10\/aboutme.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">We\u2019d pick apples from our tree to make apple pie, I convinced my dad to help me plant wildflowers for the bees and I\u2019d build hedgehog houses and insect hotels that I&#8217;d seen on Blue Peter or something like that. Yeah, I was one of those kids. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Ever since then I\u2019ve had this view that the least we can do is give nature a helping hand. Humans have destroyed habitats, polluted the ones leftover and then hunted and abused the wildlife that managed to survive all of that horror. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">The least we can do to help protect our nature.
