Hello and welcome to NUFC Pub Trips. This website aims to provide you with the knowledge of which pubs have the best atmosphere and prices for gamedays in Newcastle, through visiting multiple different pubs on separate matchdays to give you a little bit of insight for what each pub offers.
My name is Adam Symes and I am the author/editor of the site, so if there’s anything on here that you don’t agree with, now you know the name of the man to hurl the abuse at.
At the moment I’m studying journalism at Newcastle University, and I thought that this would be a great chance to report on two things that mean a lot to me; going to the pub and watching football.
Newcastle is well-known around England for its passionate and loyal supporters of their very own football team Newcastle United. Since their takeover in 2021 things have only been getting better and better for the Newcastle faithful, which means that the cities atmosphere is at an all time high. This also means that tickets to games are hard to come by for fans which results in the overspill of these supporters going to the various pubs around Newcastle to watch the Magpies.
The list of pubs I will cover will vary in audience, whether it will be for the younger audience who visit Luther’s Student Union Bar or the more traditional and older crowd of the iconic Strawberry pub. Wherever you’re from or whoever you are, this site will provide you with the perfect idea of which pub will best suit you when looking for a place to drink on gameday in Newcastle.
I will also be doing reports on topics linking to the pub and drinking culture to give some more interesting content for you to read.
