Photo by Amy Mescus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sam Fender will perform at Newcastle\u2019s Utilita Arena on December 20th, 2024. <strong>Ticket prices <\/strong>range from \u00a365.87 and \u00a388.37 for seats, with standing tickets costing \u00a382.75.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sam Fender also announced a stadium tour with three nights at St James\u2019 Park, Newcastle, in June 2025. She added, due to inflation the prices of running a venue, equipment, and staff wages have also increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe rising cost of living, as well as running businesses, has been trickling down to the costs of running venues,\u201d she said. All of this \u201cmeans that the breakeven point of live events has gone up, which is why ticket prices have also increased,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demand is also a factor, she said. \u201cThe bigger and more popular artists are still doing rather well and [are] able to sell out shows despite higher ticket prices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month JLS, played at the Newcastle Utilita Arena, with their tickets starting at \u00a339. The Script will be playing in the same venue this month. Sam has said in a previous interview that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.co.uk\/music\/sam-fender-on-music-industry-inequality-1050\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.co.uk\/music\/sam-fender-on-music-industry-inequality-1050\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u201cthe kids from where I\u2019m from don\u2019t get the money [to become musicians]\u201d<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some fans find Sam\u2019s statements about the working class ironic after the ticket prices of his recent tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">don\u2019t get me wrong I love sam fender but it\u2019s ironic he goes on about the working class and how the north east is deprived and then goes on to charge \u00a380 for a ticket to his gig<\/p>&mdash; becca \u2606.*\uff61\uff65 (@fakeitflowersx) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fakeitflowersx\/status\/1847233453009379387?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 18, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Katie Carruthers, owner of a Sam Fender news account on TikTok, said that the organisation behind these tours is \u201cthoughtless\u201d. She added, this close to Christmas, a lot of people won\u2019t have the money in their bank accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sam Fender\u2019s stadium tour was announced on November 22nd, 2024. Presale tickets released two days later. Katie said she wishes there was more notice for the tour before ticket sales began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cConcert tickets were cheaper in 2019 because everything was cheaper in 2019,&#8221; she said, \u201c[but] a lot of management companies are using that as an excuse\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Katie added, ticket prices shouldn\u2019t be going up as much as they have. \u201cIt is either the artist or the management being a bit greedy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, \u201cIt is justified that ticket prices should go up,\u201d she said.
