Hello! My name is Charlotte, I am a Journalism, Media and Culture student at Newcastle University and I am the journalist behind Bake My Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing up I spent hours watching my mother cook in the kitchen – from decorating her yearly Christmas cake to her classic Sunday roast dinner. Whilst I seemingly did not inherit her culinary skills, her love of baking was instilled in me from a young age. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I began simple with sugar cookies and pre-mixed Betty Crocker chocolate cakes, but soon enough I found myself taking on the ultimate task of perfecting the classic chocolate chip cookie recipe whilst homebound over the first COVID-19 lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, since coming to university, my baking has become few and far between, as a result of a tight budget and a lack of free time, something that I\u2019m sure many of you can relate to, especially with the ongoing cost of living crisis. Bake My Day is here to tackle those very challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
