About me

Hello everyone!

My name is Eliška and I am currently studying my second year of Journalism, Media and Culture at Newcastle University. Food has always been my big passion, including different cuisines, cooking, baking, but also the best part – eating! I thought that moving to Newcastle, out of my home and family, would give me more freedom because I could finally cook and eat anything I wanted. However, considering the time and money spent on cooking, and realising how expensive it is to eat out, sometimes I was glad to eat a sandwich on the way to my lecture.

I also recently found out that I am lactose intolerant, which means I can’t consume any dairy products. This makes finding the right food for me even harder to manage.

On this website, I would like to share my experience and how I personally deal with food and drinks. I would like to show what both Newcastle and Northumbria University have to offer for students, including interesting food events. My goal also is to accommodate for people with specific diets, such as different ranges of allergies, intolerances, or just simply veganism and vegetarianism. And on top of this, to make everything as affordable as possible, because money is usually one of the biggest concerns among students.
