Loosedays, the company behind the latest sell-out sensation, Tropiloco, expands to other major cities in the UK in response to unprecedented demand.

The Tropiloco event, exclusively managed by Loosedays, has announced plans to expand its highly successful student night.
The event, which has sold out consistently for nearly 8 months, has established itself as a fresh staple in the nightlife of Newcastle and has no plans to slow down.
The Loosedays team recently hosted a Tropiloco in Leeds City Centre at Space Nightclub on April 8th, which completely sold out prior to the launch.
Jack Smillie, Event Planner at Loosedays and Promoter of Tropiloco, discussed the success of Tropilco student nights, stating, “They’ve seen the TikTok’s, they’ve seen the hype around it”. On the Tropiloco Leeds Instagram account, they teased “MAJOR plans confirmed for 2024 & 2025” to their followers, after showing appreciation for everyone that attended to support the event.

Jack commented on the importance of the impact Tropiloco has had on Newcastle’s nightlife scene. He also expressed the significance of online marketing by saying, “Simply posting content on TikTok isn’t enough to fill clubs”. The demand is clear, according to Jack, “We get TikTok requests pretty much daily, like please bring it to our city or town”.
Future plans for Tropiloco include extending to other locations, including Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool, which is currently in production. After the success of Tropiloco Leeds they aim to introduce it as a regular weekly event for Freshers at University in Leeds, in September.
Loosedays are also hoping to launch an event in Belfast in the future, as they would like to optimize their widespread supporters.
“The long-term goal is to start taking on warehouses,” said Jack Smillie.
“I think Tropiloco is an amazing event for all the university students, it definitely has something for everyone and they’re always doing tons of online promotion which I think helps get the word out”.
Katie LeRougetel, a student at Newcastle University.
In an interview with The Tab, it was stated that in Liverpool, they hosted their debut Warehouse event, which built on their success with Tropiloco as a student event on Thursdays in the city. They also commented on the shortage of events companies currently in Liverpool and how Loosedays is improving the issue.
Grace Turvey, a University student in Liverpool, added, “I think it’s a fresh night within the city”, “I like how they’ve used social media to market and host free events and competitions for tickets”. She also said, “A lot of my friends regularly attend and say they prefer it to other events”.
According to Festival Insights, Loosedays is an events company in the UK that has been producing events primarily in Newcastle and Leeds since 2012. Hosting entertainment around the UK, they offer a range of club nights, raves, DJ shows, and their annual festival ‘Loosefest’ in Newcastle.
