Veganatomy is highly rated for its vegan and gluten free sushi. The Asian fusion takeaway offers many innovative and deliciously substituted sushi platters.

3. Las Iguanas

6. Lola Jeans

Winner of the North East ‘Battle of the Burger’, Lola Jeans’ burgers can all be made gluten free upon request. The staff are very hospitable and will walk through the menu’s allergens list with you.

7. Pizza Punks

Found on Grey’s street, this cool ambient venue provides street-food complemented with artisan skill, and gluten free pizza bases for a small additional fee of two pounds.

While on the pricier side for Newcastle, this upscale restaurant boasts a 3-paged gluten free menu for Italian fine dining.

This bar offers great drinks and delicious dine-in gluten free Chinese food with a variety of options and an easy to read menu.

21. Chaophraya

Newcastle has a brilliant multicultural food scene and Chaophraya offers gluten free Thai dining. The staff are helpful and the allergens list attentively detailed.

There is nothing worse than a menu without a gluten free stamp or no clear allergens advice but rest assured Newcastle has some great spots to try out. There are so many more places in Newcastle, not mentioned on this list, that also provide gluten free options but these have to be some of the best! Rather impressive for this city in the North East.

  5. Hi, I’ve tried a few of these venues in Newcastle, the latest being Fat Hippos. The staff are very friendly and extremely careful with the choices you make. They even go to the lengths of telling you that some seasoned pork was from a factory that may contain gluten!!
    Super impressed that you got a gluten free bun and a choice of chips, fries and tattie tots. Well worth a visit 😋😊
