Hello everybody, I am James Horsted and I am a student at Newcastle University.

I was born in the local area, and have a keen interest in football (specifically Newcastle United).

That’s why for my university digital journalism project, I chose to create Local Kickoff, a website focussed on football in the North East of England.

I will cover a range of topics, from Newcastle United in the champions league to stories about the lower divisions.

I will also cover women’s football, as we are in reigon famed for it’s talent in a game which is only goinf from strength to strength.
