Open from 9am-10pm Monday to Tuesday, 9am-11pm Wednesday to Sunday, and until 8pm on Sundays. They serve breakfast and brunch throughout the day, and in the evening serve alcoholic beverages too. Source: Jolie Brennan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Dental Bites&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bites, which is inside the Newcastle University dental\/medical school, is a university run caf\u00e9, offering student discounts of 10% for those who have the &#8216;UPAY&#8217; app, and once you\u2019ve bought 9 coffees, get your 10th coffee free. Bites is a convenient option for students near the medical school of Newcastle University, for grabbing lunch between lectures perhaps when the commute back to accommodation is too long. Bites is open Monday to Friday during term time, from 8am to 3.30pm. Outside of term time they close thirty minutes earlier at 3pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Ground Floor, Dental School, Framlington Place&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tiny Tiny&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tiny Tiny is located on Worswick street, on the edge of the city centre, and has an open, warming atmosphere and is a great place to get a light bite and a drink. Described as a &#8216;casual eatery&#8217;, Tiny Tiny serves breakfast and brunch alongside hot coffees such as cappuccinos and cortados. The caf\u00e9 is open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 4pm everyday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucy (<em>student 3 in the video<\/em>), says she usually orders a vanilla matcha alongside a rose, pistachio bake well which she says is, &#8220;really good.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location:&nbsp;<\/strong>9, 11 Carliol Square, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6UF<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laneway &amp; co<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laneway &amp; co is a popular caf\u00e9 in the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, offering breakfast and brunch bites all day. Located on a small alley just off of market street, Laneway &amp; co is the perfect place for a good coffee and nice food. It is a popular location for students and others doing work. Furthermore, it\u2019s a lovely, calming atmosphere, with greenery and modern art pieces. Laneway &amp; co also offer a wide variety of coffee beans, for those who make their coffee at home too. Source: Jolie Brennan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Ernest&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ernest is an industrial stye caf\u00e9-bar in the top end of Ouseburn, around 30 minute walk from the centre of Newcastle, but convenient for students 2nd or 3rd year living in Heaton, Shieldfield and Ouseburn alike. They offer &#8216;seasonal dishes&#8217;, all day breakfast, and in the evening they serve alcoholic beverages and cocktails. Ernest caf\u00e9 bar is open Monday to Thursday 10am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 10am to 1am, and from 10am to 5pm on Sundays. The caf\u00e9 has a great social atmosphere, and its social hours make it a great spot for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ella (<em>student 5 in the video<\/em>) says she thinks its, &#8220;really good,&#8221; and that the staff there are &#8220;so friendly,&#8221; and she usually orders a cappuccino.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>&nbsp;1 Boyd St, Shieldfield, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 1AP<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cafes as study spaces<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lots of university students use cafes a place to focus and crack down on their work, with food and drink to fuel your studies and minimal distractions that studying at home may offer. I interviewed an Economics student at Newcastle University about using cafes as study spaces, their convenience and asked him what places he would recommend to others looking for a welcoming place to study.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James says he thinks cafes are a good place to study, and are convenient for him in between lectures when he has shorter gaps and wants to avoid commuting back&nbsp;&nbsp;to his flat for short periods of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Book Club Coffee&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Situated in the Newcastle city library, James enjoys going here to work as its, &#8220;got good food and drinks there, quite good prices. Source: Jolie Brennan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Anyone&nbsp;Coffee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Percy street across from Haymarket metro station, located near to Newcastle University main campus, which he says is, &#8220;great if you\u2019ve got time to kill,&#8221; which cancels out any inconvenient travel times for students amidst lectures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location: <\/strong>Grand Hotel Buildings, 139 Percy St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7RS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lagom<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Down a small alley behind the Gate in Newcastle centre, Lagom is a small caf\u00e9 which James says there are often people working in, giving a welcoming environment for others wanting to do work too.
