I asked Newcastle University students what their favourite club in the city is for some inspiration.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I&nbsp;don\u2019t&nbsp;know about&nbsp;you&nbsp;reading&nbsp;this right now, but whenever I go out,&nbsp;myself&nbsp;and my friends&nbsp;spend most of the night arguing about where to go.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, I thought it would be&nbsp;a good idea&nbsp;to help&nbsp;out and find out what the students&nbsp;of&nbsp;Newcastle University think so that, maybe, you&nbsp;could take some inspiration from them.&nbsp;Here\u2019s&nbsp;what a few of them think:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"What is the best club in Newcastle?\" width=\"732\" height=\"412\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DRoyEtKZFK8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Youtube video interviewing Newcastle University students; Video credit: Katy Woods<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a tough battle on campus between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welovewhq.com\/\">World Headquarters<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/thecutnewcastle\/?hl=en\">The Cut<\/a> but in the end The Cut took the cake.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students who favoured The Cut seemed to agree upon why as well.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlotte Atkinson and Ruby&nbsp;Tiplady said that music was a big driving factor in why The Cut was their favourite.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruby said that she \u201cthinks it\u2019s got the best music taste\u201d and she \u201cknows every song that comes on\u201d while Charlotte agreed that&nbsp;\u201cit\u2019s got the best range of music playing\u201d,&nbsp;particularly commenting on the \u201cabsolute bangers\u201d they play.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlotte also commented that The Cut is&nbsp;\u201cnot that expensive to get into, unlike some of the others\u201d, with a ticket into The Cut starting as low as \u00a31 most nights. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cut&nbsp;boasts an array of events throughout the week&nbsp;according to its Instagram, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/spacemondays\/?hl=en\">Space Mondays<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/blur.ncl\/?hl=en\">Blur&nbsp;Tuesdays<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/playgroundwednesdays\/?hl=en\">Playground Wednesdays<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jungle_ncl\/?hl=en-gb\">Jungle&nbsp;Thursdays<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jukeboxnewcastle\/?hl=en\">Jukebox&nbsp;Fridays<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/atomicsaturdays\/?hl=en\">Atomic Saturdays<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But&nbsp;just&nbsp;why is this club so popular? And who is it most suited to? I asked an employee at The Cut,&nbsp;Newcastle University student Keyon Snoek, for the most&nbsp;important details:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-soundcloud wp-block-embed-soundcloud\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Cut interview by TalkoftheToon\" width=\"732\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F2224487435&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxheight=1000&#038;maxwidth=732&#038;secret_token=s-ija7L1GZ7wR\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Audio interview with employee of The Cut; Audio credit: Katy Woods<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Keyon agreed with Charlotte and Ruby that The Cut attracts people for its music.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that The Cut \u201chas&nbsp;a very different&nbsp;vibe to a lot of other nightclubs; they do a lot of indie music&#8230; which is&nbsp;really popular&nbsp;at the moment.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cut is open Monday to Saturday every week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keyon said that the weekend days are \u201cpretty chill\u201d and \u201cnot as busy\u201d,&nbsp;with the attendance being&nbsp;less than 100 some weeks and reaching around 200 on other weeks.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mondays are a recent addition to the schedule, while Tuesdays are a popular night, known for playing indie anthems at its weekly &#8216;Blur&#8217; event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keyon said that he would recommend Blur Tuesdays the most because &#8220;it&#8217;s a bit cheaper, it&#8217;s decent music.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The usual indie music they are known for is not often heard on a Wednesday and Thursday however, when the club acts as overflow to its brother&nbsp;venue \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuptuppalace.com\/\">Tup&nbsp;Tup&nbsp;Palace<\/a>\u2019.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On these days, the music consists of techno and garage music on a Wednesday and &#8220;white girl bangers&#8221; on a Thursday, Keyon said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club can be \u201cvery stressful, very busy\u201d,&nbsp;with it often reaching full capacity on a Wednesday.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>&#8220;It depends, some weeks it&#8217;s been, like less than 100, other weeks it&#8217;s gotten up to, like, 200 on a Friday and Saturday.&#8221;<\/p><cite>Keyon Snoek, Employee at The Cut.<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another popular\u00a0club amongst Newcastle University students was World Headquarters.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newcastle University student Callum Borkowski said that he specifically is a fan off their weekly Tuesday night event, \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/groovydiscotech\/?hl=en\">Groovy Disco Tech<\/a>.\u2019&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He&nbsp;outwardly rejected The Cut, despite its popularity amongst his peers,&nbsp;and said that \u201cI\u2019m&nbsp;not going to be going to Blur,&nbsp;I\u2019m&nbsp;not going to be going to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.holyhobo.co.uk\/\">Hobo\u2019s<\/a>, I will be going to World HQ.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s just something about a good strong&nbsp;bass line&#8230;\u201d&nbsp;Callum&nbsp;said, beginning his&nbsp;list&nbsp;of reasons why he loved World Headquarters.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some notable reasons included that the club never feels too overcrowded, their large smoking&nbsp;area&nbsp;and the fact that the club stretches across two floors.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cOne thing I absolutely love about<br>Worldies: they\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0oversell.
