I spent most of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the library panic writing the two assignments I had due last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, as always, we got there in the end (just don\u2019t ask me how I think I did on the assignments). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also must have dropped about \u00a330 in the student union co-op, buying meal deals that, even with a member card, cost over \u00a34 each. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, again, we got there in the end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuesday evening, I treated myself to a KFC as a reward for basically spending the day having a prolonged panic attack, half of which I reheated the next day when me and my best friend skipped sports night for a movie night in (best decision ever \u2013 I stand by it). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also handed in assessment one of two (thank God!) so I feel that a chill night was well deserved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thursday<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Onto Thursday and I finally handed in assessment two of two (worst week of my life, thank you Newcastle University) and it was straight to the pub we went. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Jam Jar was the pub of choice for the evening for obvious reasons (happy hour 5-9pm every Sunday to Thursday) for \u00a34.50 doubles. You can also get two for \u00a312 cocktails and pints for \u00a33.75, but a rum and coke is more my kind of style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Friday<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n I was up bright and early on Friday for a four-hour long coach journey (yay!)\u00a0to Manchester to see Mac Demarco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Okay, maybe I\u2019m a bit of a snob about the National Express, because I was not looking forward to this journey at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. As long as you use the toilet beforehand (highly recommend) and take some headphones and a book it’s not bad at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For a \u00a320 return to Manchester there\u2019s really nothing to complain about as long as I got there in one piece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The day got even better when we saw Mac Demarco live, a concert probably in my top 10 of all time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He played a couple from his new album which were not as bad as one would usually expect of the new stuff, but also made sure to bring it home with the classics as well (Moonlight on the River you were the greatest seven minutes of my life). \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n Had the trauma of my life trying to make it out of Manchester to stay at a friend\u2019s house that night (thank you storm Claudia). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Not a single train or tram out of the city centre and a severe lack of Ubers to be booked meant that it took us an hour just to track a taxi down. It was a bit of a sour end to an otherwise good day but I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll laugh about it in a couple of weeks. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Saturday<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Back on home turf in Newcastle after another lengthy bus journey and after a quick power nap and some instant noodles I\u2019m ready to go out again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And there\u2019s only one place to be on a Saturday night in Newcastle: Dog and Parrot. Honestly, it was just alright, nothing to write home about, but you’re always guaranteed a certain level of fun there so it’s an old reliable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sunday<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n My favourite day of the week. Not just any old Sunday, this Sunday marked the beginning of Christmas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Newcastle Christmas markets began on Saturday and by Sunday afternoon I had already dropped about \u00a330 quid on hot chocolates, brownies and a gyro.
