From food ideas, outfits, or finding out about all the new trends that are going viral, TikTok\u2019s popularity and influence has rocketed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ella first made her account in January this year which coincided with Newcastle\u2019s restaurant week where she thought \u2018would be a perfect time to start\u2019. Through her love of watching similar videos herself on TikTok, she often found herself using the app to search for new places to eat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, this passion gave her the idea to start her own account as she was \u2018always taking photos of her food anyway just for fun.\u2019 Similarly, her friends said she should give it a go and so she started sharing her food pics with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@eatsandella\" data-unique-id=\"eatsandella\" data-embed-from=\"oembed\" data-embed-type=\"creator\" style=\"max-width:780px; min-width:288px;\"> <section> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@eatsandella?refer=creator_embed\">@eatsandella<\/a> <\/section> <\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it all started&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ella\u2019s journey on TikTok has showcased tons of growth through views, fans and comments. She explained how she \u2018just kept posting and found it had started getting popular when friends in Newcastle would tell me that their friends had sent them my videos\u2019. Once her first video was posted, Ella commented how surprised she was when it did so well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8216;<em>I think it got around 10k views in a few days which is crazy to me&#8217;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said how she even had a TikTok influencer, Max Balegde comment on one video, realising her viewings were growing and her account was becoming \u2018widespread\u2019. The vibe was so nice and the food was even better. Good quality, delicious Indian cuisine without the high prices. Francesca\u2019s is an authentic Italian restaurant with a huge variety of fresh Italian food and refreshing drinks to choose from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside the complimentary bread, I tasted the half and half pizza pasta deal. There were so many different options to choose from it made it hard to pick. However, I had the peperoni and the carbonara. It was amazing and such a good price too at \u00a314. I would definitely push everyone to try this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ella&#8217;s current journey&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By spending just under a year of trying and tasting the Newcastle food scene, Ella said that \u2018Newcastle does have so many differing options for food, covering so many different cuisines. However, when asked if anything was missing from the Newcastle food scene, Ella commented,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em> \u2018I would love to see somewhere offering authentic but affordable Thai food.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whilst there are plenty of fancy locations such as <a href=\"https:\/\/chaophraya.co.uk\/thai-restaurant\/newcastle\">Chaophraya<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/zaapthai.co.uk\/\">Zaap Thai<\/a>, ultimately Ella feels Newcastle is missing something \u2018cosy, chill and affordable\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u2018I do feel quite a bit of pressure to keep up with posting and trends.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ella commented how she does feel pressure, especially being a student as finding the funds to constantly try new places can be hard adding \u2018especially with so many new places opening up in Newcastle all the time\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However Ella has a few ways that helps her keep on top of her account such as videoing when going out with friends and family and uploading information posts such as market dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u2018I try to post every other day, but this is quite difficult and sometimes I have to be abit creative and branch out\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ella spoke about who influences her when it comes to dining out to spark that creativity, mentioning \u2018Eatingwithtod\u2019 as one of her favourites. \u2018hes always trying the craziest foods that make you want to get on a train to London or Manchester just to give them a go.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@eatingwithtod\" data-unique-id=\"eatingwithtod\" data-embed-from=\"oembed\" data-embed-type=\"creator\" style=\"max-width:780px; min-width:288px;\"> <section> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@eatingwithtod?refer=creator_embed\">@eatingwithtod<\/a> <\/section> <\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ella is also influenced by her brother and sister, sending photos and videos in our group chat for recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From creating such a fun and informative platform herself, Ella expressed how amazing her experience has been, from her confidence improving, to making her branch out and try new places, ultimately suggesting how \u2018lovely and supportive\u2019 her social network is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked if she had any advice for aspiring creators, Ella replied,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u2018I would tell people to just go for it\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whilst it may feel daunting at the beginning, especially hearing her own voice on videos, scared people would be making fun of her, she said she no longer gets those feelings and really enjoys what she does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ella advised planning on making an account to try and plan out videos in advance through drafts before starting to post to relieve the pressure of thinking \u2018what is my next post going to be?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s to come next&#8230;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Ella is currently studying abroad in the Netherlands, she explained how making content is quite hard as it is so expensive. However with friends and family visiting of course she is \u2018trying all of the viral food spots\u2019 so expect to see those recommendations coming soon!
