This annual event attracted artists from across various regions to showcase their works and garnered enthusiastic participation and widespread attention from the local community

A Platform for Local Artists
The fair attracted more than 50 artists and manufacturers from the Northeast and other regions to exhibit various works including paintings, sculptures, photography and handicrafts. The artists used this platform not only to showcase their talents, but also to communicate with the audience face to face and share the stories behind their creations.
Jess is a highly regarded local artist who exhibited her latest “Destruktiv Art” collage works at the fair. These works cleverly combine traditional art forms with modern innovations to present a unique visual experience. Cut-and-paste art is created by cutting, tearing and splicing various materials (such as paper, cloth, magazine pictures and text), breaking the boundaries of conventional painting and sculpture, giving each work a rich sense of layering and unique narrative.
Jess said: “This event means a lot to me. It is not only an opportunity to showcase my latest works, but also a precious moment to communicate and learn from other artists. I really enjoyed this event and had a lot of fun.”
She further added: “The event allowed me to meet many people from different backgrounds and connect with other artists. It was also a great opportunity to draw inspiration from them. Interaction with the audience is also crucial to my creative process. Seeing their reactions to my work and hearing their opinions and feedback is a huge encouragement for me.”
Jess’s display stand attracted a large number of visitors. Her “Destruktiv Art” not only shows her unique personal artistic style, but also brings a novel visual experience to the audience.

Another artist participating in the fair, Tony, showcased his latest creations, covering a variety of products such as hand-painted English paper designs, prints, badges and stickers. The works in this exhibition mainly revolve around the Northeast and natural themes, fully demonstrating Tony’s personal artistic style and diverse creations.
Tony said: “The works I exhibited this time are mainly themed around the Northeast and nature. Since I am from Newcastle, many of my works revolve around the landscape and characteristics of the Northeast. In addition, I have a deep interest in animals, and my works cover birds, mammals and marine life. Another special thing is Pokémon, which was my interest in childhood. I incorporate this passion into my creations and try to use more colors to break my previous style of mainly black and white creations.”

Active participation of the community
Resident Bill also expressed his appreciation for the fair: “I live nearby. I saw the introduction of this event on the Baltic Center’s official website and decided to come and have a look. Although it rained today and the exhibition was moved from outdoors to indoors, the atmosphere was still very friendly. I felt very happy to appreciate the works of these local artists with my friends.”
Couple Carol and her boyfriend Luke also came to the fair. Carol said: “I love art very much. Luke accompanied me to this event and we had a wonderful day. We admired many beautiful works together and participated in a pottery workshop.” Luke added: “I don’t usually come into contact with art. I came from Sheffield mainly to accompany Carol. However, today’s experience gave me a new understanding of art, and I also enjoyed the time with Carol.”
