The performance will be free to watch, with limited meet &amp; greet tickets available at \u00a315.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>&#8220;These bars were built up as sanctuaries and havens for people who were different&#8221;<\/p><cite>Gladys Duffy, Rusty&#8217;s Showbar Manager and Hostess<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Showbar has also been hosting <a href=\"https:\/\/dragidol.co.uk\/\">Drag Idol Newcastle<\/a> over a number of weeks, with contestants like rising star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/itsbiptyp?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&amp;igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==\">Bipty P<\/a> taking part in weekly wacky competitive performances on the Showbar stage. Bipty commented \u201cDrag Idol is just one of the best things on the drag scene, it brings everyone together\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Rupaul&#8217;s Drag Race UK vs The World &#8216; winner Tia Kofi along with fellow \u2018Drag Race UK\u2019 stars Davina DeCampo, Baga Chipz, Ella Vaday, Victoria Scone, Ginny Lemon also perform and conduct meet and greets on the Showbar stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of Newcastle University\u2019s Drag Society Dan Chester described the bar as having a \u201cvery warm, welcoming sense of community\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newcastleworld.com\/your-newcastle\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/more-than-10000-newcastle-residents-identify-as-lgb-3980543\">10,000 Newcastle residents<\/a> now identifying as members of the LGBTQIA+ community, the popularity of queer nightlife in the city has greatly increased. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Bottomless Drag Brunch Bonanza is available every Saturday including live drag performances, bingo, sassy meals, karaoke, cocktails and prosecco.
