The advancement of technology has significantly impacted various industries, including the music sector. A clear example of this is evident in the alterations to the rules and criteria for the 2023 Grammy Awards, where it was specified that ‘only work that includes human authorship is eligible for the award.’ This change was prompted by concerns from certain musicians about the potential competition from AI.
Nevertheless, Dr. Mariam Rezaei, an expert in music technology and composition, along with the music producer from Newcastle known as Biglad, have shared their perspectives on how technology can be harnessed to support emerging music creators in the industry.
