True Grit Wrestling is set to cap off an amazing year of wrestling with its biggest show ever on the 25th of November at Left Bank Leeds.

A special night is set to be headlined by a three-way ladder match for the newly created tag-team championships. The team of Misery Business (Alan Kay and Joe Wade) take on Crashboat (Jack Bandicoot and Pop Punk Kid) and Jet Martial and new Impact Wrestling signee, Leon Slater.

True Grit Wrestling’s Promoter/Owner, James Carr said: “I think Crashboat are one of the best teams in the country and have been for a while. Misery Business are great, both of them have been brilliant. Leon and Jet are the future, both are so talented.”

Leon Slater and Jet Martial are both in the early stages of their career but both have already amassed impressive résumés. Slater has skyrocketed into stardom, having a match-of-the-year contender with AEW star Will Ospreay and winning world championships in NORTH and TNT Wrestling. Martial is on the same trajectory and has the potential to be the next independent UK wrestler to blossom into a world champion.

Elsewhere on the card, the True Grit Champion Nsereko teams with the viral sensation Rhio to face the power couple Brady Phillips and True Grit Women’s Champion, Ivy. This bout has major title implications with the non-title holder on the winning team becoming next in line for a championship match.

Speaking of the women’s championship, the winner of the four-way match between Zizi, Helen Charlotte Campbell, Lana Austin and Commander Sterling will undoubtedly rocket themselves into contention for a future opportunity.

This match highlights the rising representation of the LGBTQ+ community in independent wrestling shows which was once very uncommon to see in this sport.

True Grit Wrestling’s Promoter/Owner, James Carr said: “I would like to introduce a pride title at some point. It would give a nice nod to the LGBT wrestlers and supporters we have. I think its really important to be diverse, it really does make the shows better.”

Some rivalries are too fierce to be contained by a standard wrestling match which is exactly the case with the feud between Nathan Black and Lou Nixon.

Nixon has been out for revenge since losing the first incarnation of this match in March through nefarious means but Nathan Black has been avoiding the consequences of his actions.

At Jacob’s Ladder, there will be nowhere for Black to run when the bell rings and the two are attached by a strap. A strap match can only be won when one competitor touches each of the four corners in succession.

True Grit Wrestling’s Promoter/Owner, James Carr said: “Nathan Black has been running his mouth and Lou Nixon has been demanding a rematch. I thought it would be good to get them together so Nathan Black can’t run away and they could just beat the hell out of each other.”

In another repeat of a former match, Liam Slater will try to get his win back against Kev Lloyd in a Pure Grit Rules match. This type of match is only for the most technical of wrestlers with submission being the only way to win.

Both men are supremely talented when it comes to mat-based wrestling and have each had lots of experience in this stipulation so this match will most definitely be a masterclass in professional wrestling.

Ace Matthews and Wing Commander Nash (collectively known as Nashboat) may not have won a match as a team but they have certainly won the hearts of the True Grit fans.

True Grit Wrestling’s Promoter/Owner, James Carr said: “Wing Commander Nash is always consistently one of the most entertaining people in any show that he does. I always found Ace really funny, really annoying but really funny. With Nash it just works so well and they get one of the biggest reactions on the show.”

Nashboat’s search for an actual win may have to wait a little while longer as they face the Violence Party (B.A. Rose and Jack Turner) who, as the name suggests, are a combination of brutality and destruction. Whichever team comes out the victor will surely be at the front of the line for an opportunity at the newly crowned tag-team champions.

In a true style clash, the gritty grafter Geordie, HT Drake takes on the glamourous Drag Queen, Priscilla for the first time ever in True Grit. The no-nonsense Drake has often been vocal about his disdain for flashy gimmicks so expect full aggression in his attempt to eliminate the Queen of the Ring.

At 6-foot-5, 232 pounds, Sean Only is what it would look like if you created a professional wrestler from the ground up. Only has set out yet another open challenge for Jacob’s Ladder with the stipulation that whoever accepts must have never wrestled for True Grit in the past.

This guarantees a debut and opens the floodgates for speculation of which talent will turn up in Leeds for this showcase bout.

Every match on the card offers great potential for show-stealing performances in what should be a wonderful night of wrestling. The variety on show truly has something for everyone to enjoy from the extreme carnage that will be the main event ladder match to the technical tussle True Grit Rules match.

Tickets are still available to buy in a standing room only capacity.
