Part of Mia’s work with the company involves running their TikTok account, @latestdeals, planning and creating content for the page which has almost 220 thousand followers and 2.4 million likes.

This is just one of the many events Mia has attended since she began her journey as a TikTok ambassador, showcasing local ‘Places to visit’ on the app. Earlier this year, Mia was invited along to TikTok HQ in London for several conferences including a talk with the director of Tasty UK.

The vlogger, and profound lover of Greggs, was even invited to the launch of the Greggs Cafe ‘Tasty’ inside Primark on Northumberland Street.

Despite her love for Greggs, Mia has not yet been able to get her hands on the Greggs ‘Too Good to Go’ bags available in the North East.

Earlier this year, Mia began her mission trying all the ‘Too Good to Go’ bags in Newcastle and started a TikTok series providing honest reviews of each one. What started as a small series to raise awareness of the app and the benefits of these bags to students who may be looking for budget friendly food options, has since turned into a widely successful stream of videos on the @yorkshirelassinnewcastle page.

Her top recommendation for those looking to try out this app would be Gingerinos. Mia claims the restaurant provides “tonnes of pizza, the slices are massive and it is all very fresh”.

“Gingerinos is the best pizza in Newcastle”

Another favourite for Mia would be the Neighbourhood Cafe, which serve a variety of food and also offer foods from Proven Goods Co on a weekend, which means you could be in for a lucky treat.

Mia also payed Proven Goods Co a visit as part of her travels to find the best hot chocolate in the North East. This is the vloggers latest series on TikTok where she has been rating hot chocolate based on different variables to find where you can get the best hot chocolate around.

Being a student herself, Mia understands that a lot of the time you need some scran that will not break the bank and there are 3 spots that really stand out to her.

  • Firestone Pizza. Offer deals throughout the week on their pizza slices.
  • Alfies. Different offers almost every day of the week including 50% off burgers on a Monday and 30p chicken wings on ‘Wings Wednesday’
  • Shijo. Available at Haymarket and Newcastle University Student Union. Offer low prices all day every day.

For those of you looking to branch out and enjoy a classic sit down meal, Pizzeria Francessca is one of Mias favourite restaurants in Newcastle. The family owned italians is a popular restaurant in Jesmond, famously known for their half pizza, half pasta dish that has people queueing up outside.

“I’ve never found a better Italians…it’s just such a nice restaurant”
